(a)    Initiative: Job Fair Participation.

. WDST participated in Career Day, sponsored by Arlington High School, held on November 19, 2009 in Poughkeepsie, New York.  The career day was presented by Arlington Central School District in conjunction with the  Dutchess County Regional Chamber of Commerce.  WDST attendees with hiring authority: The Marketing/Promotions Director

 

(b) Initiative:  WDST Internship Program.

Unpaid Internship Program:  6 High School and College students participated in WDST’s Internship program in various departments during the reporting period.

 

Our programs are designed to provide a broad introductory overview of the broadcasting industry and help students learn through workplace experience, and more importantly, students have an opportunity to exchange their visions, bringing their skills and cutting-edge ideas to the WDST environment.

 

WDST interns may be accepted into, and are encouraged to participate in, a variety of areas and departments within WDST, including:

 

 

Promotions

Sales/Marketing

Broadcasting

 

Production

Accounting

Webcasting

 

 

Traffic

 

 

The Internships are awarded to qualified candidates who meet the following criteria:

 

·   at least 17 years of age, but less than 22 at the time of entry;

·   high school or undergraduate college students;

·   residents of New York State or attending school in New York State; and

·   first time entrants to the program.
